Sigma Rho Lambda

About Sigma Rho Lambda

Sigma Rho Lambda is UNC: Chapel Hill's Jewish sorority. Sigma Rho Lambda is derived from our foremothers, Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, and Leah. In addition to fun and creative social events, Sigma Rho Lambda encourages and provides service to the community and offers learning experiences related to Judaism.

Sigma Rho Lambda: A Jewish Sisterhood

Sigma Rho Lambda comprises more than a group of friends. Members of Sigma Rho Lambda become sisters. Events throughout the year serve to strengthen this relationship, including sisterhood dinners and Big/Little Sister get-togethers. Sisters of Sigma Rho Lambda create friendships and memories that will last far beyond their college years.

Committment to Philanthropy

Sisters of Sigma Rho Lambda are dedicated to serving the campus and community, and frequently participate in campus fundraisers and charity events in addition to taking on projects of our own.

Past philanthropy projects include: Helping with the Hillel Habitat for Humanity house, participation as Moralers for UNC Dance Marathon, fundraisers for Dimes for Darfur, and cooking Shabbat meals for others.
